About

I don't take a lot of pictures or videos, but I do love to write. My mom chronicled our family story through the magic of the camcorder; my record for posterity is the written word, which has its own unique pros and cons.

I'm a family man, having gotten married at the tender age of 23 and thereafter siring two children: my daughter, Kaiya, and my son, Ronin. (My wife's name is Jodie, but she's Internet-shy and asked me never to mention her name online, which I solemnly promised never to do, and have kept my word to this very day.)

I've been blogging since 2008, which is an eternity in Internet years, and I would occasionally include personal tales of myself and my family, but it was never the main focus. So, I decided to finally get organized and start a separate blog dedicated solely to chronicling my family's adventures in that little journey called life.

As for me, I am what you might consider a geek (a geek who can bench press 225 pounds, but a geek nonetheless), which doesn't carry the social stigma it used to. In fact, there's probably never been a better time to proclaim membership in the general brotherhood of geekery. For myself, my main obsessions are movies, video games, and Star Wars, which will probably become painfully obvious after spending any time interacting with me at all. I'm trying to instruct my kids in the ways of geekdom, to varying degrees of success.

I currently reside in Canada, the greatest country in the world (calm down, Norway). To any Americans reading this blog, it may take a little time to get used to correct way to spell words like "honour" or "centre", but don't worry: I have faith in your ability to adapt. Hell, I'm even an outlier in believing beyond all demonstrable evidence to the contrary that America will one day even catch up to the rest of the world and adopt the metric system. Yes We Can.

In short, to anybody who might wind up reading my ramblings, all my brothers and sisters around the world, welcome to the inner circle of a definitely human family.

Also, did I mention that, much like Stephen King, I sometimes have difficulty nailing the ending? Well, there you have it.
